- Help others. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
I will seek to have a positive and noticeable impact on humanity
- To have a positive impact on humanity, be a net-producer.
- Avoid cream skimming jobs like finance. Avoid jobs that have a significant detrimental impact on the environment.
- Succeeding to the detriment of humanity is the worst failure imaginable.
Scientific mindset: principles of how I think
Seek to discover and understand the objective truth.
- People, including scientists, misrepresent facts and bury the truth because it serves them
- The truth is often interspersed in the noise and is sometimes difficult to comprehend
- However, real progress can only be made when we face and act on a common truth
Fairness: in the evaluation of others
Be fair in the treatment and assessment of others.
- It is okay to have initial biases because biases help make decisions where there is no observation
- However I must update those biases quickly if they are wrong
Growth mindset: principles to guide my study, work, play, and use of time
I will never stop growing.
- Growth comes through committing to incremental habits and overcoming momentous challenges.
